  2. Yay! I love inspiring stories about media!!

    The fact that that wonderfully empowerd member of civil society chopped off his finger to show resistance to the police's sting operation wasn't so great...but I believe the message of increased civil activism through the use of participatroy mediums would make Bennett very happy as well. Castelles, on the other hand, would probably be suprised that his assertion that "It is unlikely that social movements will connect with[China's] majority" (due to disparities in media access) is proving incorrect :p I'm optimistic that the expansion of internet/mobile based grassroots civic uprisings will continue to alter power-counterpower relationships for increased democratization globally!
